Eating Better Together

The Columbus Food Co-op is proud to be among the 13 recipents of the Welcoming Community II Grant, awarded by Heritage Fund – the Community Foundation of Bartholomew County.

Our program, Eating Better Together, creates a more welcoming community by connecting individuals from all economic backgrounds to key sources of information and tools for healthy eating in Columbus.  It addresses the food issues faced by the low- income members of our community, acknowledges that all community members can benefit from this awareness through activities that encourage us to all eat better, and creates opportunities for fun, peer- to-peer learning.

The classes will all be interactive and lots of fun!  From cooking with kids to learning how to make stock and even how to save money by buying a whole chicken and learning how to cut it up yourself -- there's something for everyone.  We want residents of all ages and backgrounds to cook & eat together, building an inclusive and strong community.
