Eating Better Together: Stocks & Soups

Why buy stocks and canned soups, when you can add flavor to your meals make some and prepare wholesome, delicious soups at home and save money?soup.png

The next installment of Eating Better Together classes focus on making beef, chicken, and vegetable stocks from scratch (and scraps!) andmaking different hearty soups on a budget for these cold months ahead. 

Join us on Wednesday, January 16 at 5:30pm for the stock class.  Join us again on Saturday, January 19 at 10am for the soup class.  Both classes are held at Columbus North High School and taught by Chef Carrie Douglas, C4 Culinary Arts Instructor. 

Both classes are free and to open to all.  

By attending these classes, you'll be doing much more than learning some new tips and recipes.  The classes are being co-instructor by a very skilled student in the Culinary Arts program.  Brayden Grider will be co-instructor the classes with Chef Douglas as part of his senior project.  Also, we hope after you learn some new soup recipes, you'll prepare a pot to donate to the 15th Annual Empty Bowls event, which raises money for our local food banks.
