Ramps to Freedom - East Senior Project

An East High-school senior has made it her  senior project to organize a 5K no-compete fun-run/walk to benefit our combined Aging & Community Services & HPI “Ramps to Freedom”program. She hopes to raise enough money through this event to pay for at least one ramp for a community member in need.

This program pays to purchase the materials for a ramp and uses professional volunteers to install ramps for financially qualified community members  in need of a ramp so that they can safely enter and exit their homes. Many people are homebound because it is very difficult or impossible to maneuver the steps on their homes. A ramp enables them to fully engage in their communities.
