Seeking Outreach Coordinator

Former Outreach Coordinator, SaraBeth Drybread, has transitioned onto the Co-op board and is pursuing further professional opportunities in the field of retail business public relations. She was hired by Bloomington based Upland Brewery and is also working on her MBA. 

There is no doubt that she benefited the Co-op greatly in so many ways, and there is also no doubt that her experience as Outreach Coordinator benefited her professional growth.

The Co-op is looking to forge another such mutual relationship.

The following is the Outreach Coordinator job description: 

Overall Description and Scope of Work for Outreach Coordinator Position

  • Membership communications through Facebook, Twitter, newsletters, the Co-op web site and other mediums as agreed with the Board of Directors.

  •  Work with the web designer to develop a themed, consistent web site.

  • Branding, including developing new materials (brochures, business cards, posters, banners, etc.) and a branding / logo use handbook.

  • Attending board meetings and assisting board committees where requested.

  • Speaking to community groups and organizations to present the Co-op mission.

  • Providing support to the store general manager and other staff as requested.

  • Team building: work on the activities listed with other staff and owner-member volunteers, cross-training where appropriate; create a committed, effective outreach/events team with a coherent role in building the co-op.

Social media 
  • Develop social media strategy and content for key social media channels (Facebook, Twitter).

  • Create visual, verbal, and interactive content that supports co-op story.

  • Monitor, engage in online conversations, and respond to questions or issues in a very timely, friendly manner, including nights and weekends.

  • Capture high-quality photography that brings to life our story in social media.

  • Curate video content ensuring it tells an engaging story.

  • Monitor social media groups, trends, tools, and applications, reportingfindings and recommending actions and next steps.

PR Advertising & Marketing 

  • Research, write, edit and proofread all advertising and marketing copy.

  • Write and update website copy weekly.

  • Craft bi-monthly newsletters, coordinating newsworthy content across allmembers of the organization. 

  • Staff events and serve as brand ambassador when needed.

  • Actively engage with relevant news outlets, press contacts, serving as the primary point of contact.
